Features

Multi-level project organization

Find under this interface the project nomenclature as it was imported from the drawing software: contract / project / phase / assembly / secondary part.

These different levels and the elements that compose them are accessible via dierent tabs to facilitate ergonomics.

Centralization of all project-related information

Get quick access to all useful data to have an overview of the project and help in decision making: name of the project, customer, weight, surface, person in charge, expected delivery date, distribution by profile type, tooling operations required by type, grades, etc.

2D and 3D visualization of secondary parts

Control secondary parts with their 2D drawings and displayed dimensions. View parts from all angles with a 3D engine integrated. Zoom in specific areas for even greater accuracy.

3D visualization of assemblies, phases and projects

Thanks to the IFC and XML formats that allow to import complete project information,
visualize assemblies, phases and projects in 3D, and zoom in and out if needed.

Integrated drawing editor

If you need to make changes to parts, use the drawing module integrated to Steel Projects. Similar to most common 2D drawing software, it allows you to change tooling operations, dimensions, bends, macros, etc. You can even edit new parts from this module if needed.

Automatic part checking at two levels

Check potential errors in the imported drawings: drilling operation too close to the edges of the parts for example.
Identify errors detected according to the workshop capacities: comparison of the required tooling operations with the available operations (hole diameters compared to the available drills for example).

Traceability of revisions

Record all the modifications made on a project (What? Who? When?) during the whole production process by creating revisions when changes occur. Compare easily one version to another to save much time: the software indicates the changes clearly so that you see them at first glance. Regarded pieces are higlighted.

Tooling technology management

Modify the tooling operations of a part or a group of parts.
Modifications can range from changing the diameter of a hole to replacing one technology with another. For example, converting punching into drilling, or converting coping into scribing (if your machines do not allow, but you want to make it easier for the manual saw station later).

Document management

Attach all the useful documents (cast numbers, raw material delivery notes, emails, etc.) of a project in the same location. This ensures that they are not misplaced and increases the level of information available to all project stakeholders. This is also very important for traceability management.

Structuration of profile data

Input all types of profiles (beams, plates, angles, etc.) managed in a database, allowing automatic management of certain parameters based on the software’s recognition of these types of profiles.

Project status management

Visualize projects according to their status: to be produced, in production, completed, etc. Apply filters to easily find them according to their status.

Management of project types

Create new projects from standard projects or catalogs (particularly useful for manufacturers of transmission towers for example).

Creation of fabrication jobs

Organize your production with the creation of fabrication job that you will be able to track through production.
Filters can be used to create groups of pieces that you want to include in them, depending on dierent factors
(type of profile, thickness, etc.). You can mix pieces from dierent projects.
