SP Inventory

Features

Stock management

Steel Projects allows the inventory of your stock. From the reception of material from suppliers, an ID associated with the cast number is created, along with a bar code to identify parts even more easily.

The locations where they are stored is allocated and tracked to find them when needed: warehouses, yards, racks, etc.

The stock statuses are automatically updated as material is used.
Both metric and imperial systems can be managed.
Finally, the value of the stock is also taken into account during the updates.

Purchasing management

The software stores a database of all the usual suppliers.
In order to start the purchasing process, section nesting can be made to determine the required quantities and compare them with the stocks available on-site.
Reservations are made to secure material.
Then, price and availability requests are made in the software, as well as the generation of the purchase order once the choice has been made with the information received from suppliers. A planning is accessible to monitor delivery times with the delivery schedules.

Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

The stock module is directly linked to Steel Projects during the production process.
A color code system applicable to fabrication jobs allow to see the current availability of material. They update as production goes on.

Stock statuses are followed to make sure the material is available when needed: as parts are going through processing on CNC machines, stocks are updated. ID’s are created and labels printed on-site for offcuts to be put back into the stock.

If an operator uses a bar or plate that is not the one reserved for convenience, they can update the ID in the CNC and reservations are automatically updated in Steel Projects.
Operators can scan material to facilitate their identification and avoid errors.

Goods receiving and inspection

When material is delivered, operators can check shipments directly in front of the trucks with a tablet to make sure nothing is missing and that the quality is fine. Information like Good Receipts Notes (GRN) are sent back to Steel Projects for follow-up and stock updates.

Traceability and certification

Upon reception, a tracking ID is created to follow material until the final product is delivered on the erection site. The heat number is associated with this ID so that the link between a cast can be made with a part of a building. This process is part of many traceability norms throughout the world such as the EN1090 in Europe.

Cost management

The costs of each inventory item are taken into account in order to pass them on to the costs of projects.
