Nowadays, digital continuity is a key success factor considering the numerous software that can be installed in one organization.
In steel fabrication, the first challenge is to integrate data from the detailing office to avoid double entries and benefit from all the information already available.
The second is to integrate data from external software such as ERP, MIS or plate nesting software that are complementary to our solutions.
For those reasons, we have developed diffferent ways to exchange data for our customers to add value to all of their various software, including Steel Projects, which is at the art of the production process.
Import files from multiple detailing software tools including :
Managed formats are the most commonly used in our sector :

The software analyzes the geometry of each part, generates the 3D view, and displays the necessary operations required in production.
Steel Projects also allows you to import more advanced, modern and evolving formats. These BIM formats are rich in information, integrate the entire structure of a project or phase, and contain relationship data between all of the parts in the 3D model. Finally, this type of format enables to import only one file per project, avoiding errors related to files lost in the process.
Steel Projects supports 2 common BIM file formats – IFC & XML. IFC is a standardized format supported by most 3D Modeling programs allowing seamless data exchange with Steel Projects. The XML format can be customized with fabrication specific data.
Here are some examples of the advantages of these file types:

The goal is to achieve considerable productivity gains in your fitting and welding stations.

This format was developed by Steel Projects for the purpose of creating a seamless data exchange with other software tools used in the industry. It allows the exchange of fabrication jobs, nesting, stock information, and more.
Through our partnerships we have developed reliable, quick data exchange processes with detailing software, ERP systems and other production software tools.
These exchanges are made possible through the Steel Projects web API.
.
In certain cases, specific software development may be required. Our development team has years of experience and can customize a dedicated interface as required. We have several of these in place across different platforms with many developed for the ERP space. These developments are subject to specific quotations that depend on the amount of work required.

The following diagram summarizes the different exchanges that can occur between Steel Projects and external software throughout the entire process. The goal for our customers is to achieve full digital continuity, which is essential for optimizing their workflows and gaining significant productivity improvements. Ultimately, this approach enables them to get the most out of each software solution and its capabilities.
