

SP Workshop regroups exclusively all the features of Steel Projects available for use in the shop floor: from automation of all types, management of manual workstations, monitoring of the shop’s activity, to information sharing.

Steel Projects’ main historic know-how has been the automatic creation of CNC data for machines to automate the execution of programs according to live parameters and constraints. Those data can be created for :
Since Steel Projects manages the workflows, CNC data can also be created for automatic conveyors in order to route pieces automatically.


CNC data to program welding robots are done by external dedicated software but those programs can run through Steel Projects to keep control of the entire production process from one main interface.
The processing of programs automatically generated can be launched either manually by operators directly on the NC or facilitated with bar coding system connected to the NC. For that, bar codes can be edited for programs. After production, automatic feedbacks are collected automatically and sent back to Steel Projects to track and analyze production.

Steel Projects offers comprehensive workshop management, so our expertise is not limited to CNC machines. We also offer solutions to manage manual stations such as assembly, welding, painting, quality control, etc.
We have an application called Workshop Assistant available on Android tablets or installed on computers next to those stations.
This application includes :


Our mobile application is developed on Android and then allows easy usability. Besides, scanning systems can be connected to the application to facilitate the input for operators. Bar codes can be edited to replace actions and identify pieces.
Operators no longer need to remove their gloves for example. Finally, the Windows version can be installed on specific computers designed to be installed in a shop floor environment: on wheels and protected by steel formworks.
The QC process in Steel Projects is made easy by taking into account every step digitally: inspection reports, non-conformity reports, etc.
In addition, we have partnered with FabStation to provide even more usability and eciency for QC management. By using google or tablets, their solutions enable to overlay the digital model on top of actual assemblies to check compliances. A manual link with our mobile application can be made by the time FabStation is eventually fully integrated into Steel Projects.

Production traceability
Steel Projects allows you to save all the operations carried out on each piece (who, when, where, how?) thanks to the automatic feedback from CNC machines, and manual feedback from manual workstations, including quality control stations.
Many other features of the software also allow to enrich and facilitate traceability management: management of revisions, checking of the feasibility of parts, management of the user rights, management of constraints related to norms (restrictions of some tooling operations according to execution class for example, etc.).
Material traceability
To follow the material as soon as it is received, our solutions enable to create an ID of traceability associated with the cast number given by the steel supplier. This ID is then tracked throughout the production process. Operators on CNC machines or manual workstations input that number on parts that are being produced. In addition, information related to the consumable used can be recorded. For example, which welding wire and which barrel of paint were used for which part or assembly? Finally, labels are edited to facilitate tracking and the part identification with scanning systems.
A high level of accuracy is allowed thanks to the management of GUID’s, that dierentiate parts with the same ID but with multiple quantities.
Complete traceability reports are generated in PDF files on demand to gather all traceability information collected throughout the process and shared easily with stakeholders.

The necessity to share information within shop floors is essential to gain eciency by avoiding many unnecessary trips, and give employees more sense in their job.
That is why Steel Projects oer the possibility to use an internal messaging system connected to all devices and dierent applications present in our ecosystem.
Moreover, there is the possibility to track live the activity of each station (automatic or manual) and get access to some information : operator logged in, program or work order in progress, potential current messages and alerts, last feedback received, machine or station status (on/o), preventive maintenance information and remaining workload.

Finally, our solutions allow to share desired information and images directly on screens installed in the shop floor. Dierent scenarios can be configured in the software: number of images, durations, etc.
The architecture of our solutions enables data to be exchanged live and stored safely for ecient and reliable information sharing.
